The Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT (ONC) made its second and final tranche of statewide health information exchange (HIE) grants today, which included a grant to Maryland.

The funding is part of the HITECH component of the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act (ARRA).  The $9.3 million will be used to bolster the existing statewide HIE efforts currently being made by CRISP.  CRISP received seed funding through Maryland's unique all-payor system last year.

Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown's statement on the ONC funding can be found here.
